I Will Always Remember.
 
 

Son, Brother, Friend, Soldier…SSG Rayvon Battle, Jr., lost his life in Iraq while serving in the United States Army. Upon the devastating news, Chiquita, sister of SSG Battle, was aided through the Armed Forces Program offered by the American Red Cross. Because of United Way contributions, the American Red Cross was able to provide multiple services during a difficult time, including transporting her brother home to his loved ones.

I'm On The Right Track.

 

Due to a struggling economy, uncontrolled diabetes, cholesterol and hypertension, Rudy Smith found himself off-course in the marathon of life. Through the programs offered at the Tar River Mission Clinic, which provides free healthcare services to the low income and uninsured, Rudy was given medical treatment and guidance. Due to United Way support for these programs, Rudy was able to overcome these obstacles. Now he is winning the race for better health.

Deana Cruz represents many students who experience language barriers between schools and families. The Ready Schools/Ready Communities program offered through Down East Partnership for Children, benefits Deana by providing unique services based on the needs of the school and community. Due to the support of United Way donors, this program unites a village to ultimately create an atmosphere for academic success.

(Dianaluz Ochoa-Cruz representa muchos estudiantes que experimentan barreras del idioma entre las escuelas y las familias. La iniciativa de Escuelas Preparadas/Comunidades Preparadas que ha ofrecido a través de La Asociación para Niños, Down East Partnership for Children, se beneficia a Dianaluz y proporciona servicios únicos basados en las necesidades de la escuela y la comunidad. Debido al apoyo de los donantes de United Way, este programa une un pueblo para finalmente crear una atmósfera para el éxito académico para todos los niños.)
